Rabada’s Outstanding Bowling Led South Africa To a Dazzling Victory Over Australia In The 3rd ODI

South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada’s outstanding bowling spell of 13-3 led his team  to their first win of the Tri-Nation-Series of West Indies, South Africa and Australia.

South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 189 runs with a loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs, which was a challenging score on a low, slow turning pitch at Providence Stadium, Guyana.

South Africa got off to a slow start as they were playing at 16-0 in 5 overs. De Kock smashed a six and a four in a Coulter-Nile’s over. In order to increase the run rate, de Kock lost his wicket to Hazlewood in 7th over.

Incoming batsman Rilee Rossouw(7) could not deliver his best and was sent back to the Pavilion by Nathan Lyon. Amla and de Villiers were playing well but Smith and Finch’s brilliant fielding broke the partnership as Amla got Run Out on 35 off 46 balls.

After Amla’s wicket de Villiers(22) and Duminy(13) dismissed early, middle order batsman Behardien played a crucial innings of 62 off 82 balls and was awarded the man of the Match title.

Australia’s opener Aaron Finch played a brilliant innings of 72 off 103 balls but no other batsman could not help Australia to cross the winning mark.

Josh Hazlewood bowled brilliantly with 2/20.

Australia lost the match by 47 by runs, captain Steve Smith said, “We’ve got to adapt better on wickets like this that are a bit slower and take a bit of spin“.

South Africa and Australia earned five points, after picking up a bonus point each, while West Indies earned four points.
