Kiwis won the first ODI of the New Zealand vs Bangladesh series by 77 runs at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. The hosts opted to bat first and ended up giving a target of 341 runs to Bangladesh. However, the visitors lost all their wickets at 264 runs with 5.1 overs still to spare. Tom Latham was given the Player of the match trophy for his 137 runs innings off 121 balls.
Pakistan scored 142 runs with the loss of four wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Monday. South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first against Sri Lanka at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth. At the time of tea break, hosts were at 174 runs with the loss of 2 wickets, Hashim Amla (18*) and Jean Paul Duminy (46*) being at the crease. Suranga Lakmal claimed the wickets of South Africa’s opening pair Stephen Cook (59) and Dean Elgar (45).
Melbourne Stars won the match against Hobart with 7 wickets at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Hosts opted to bat first and ended up giving a target of 188 runs to Melbourne Stars. Answering the challenge, visitors took only 17.4 overs to score 191 runs with the loss of 3 wickets. Rob quiney became the Man of the Match for his 75 runs innings off 43 balls.
