IPL 2017 Match 27 KKR vs RCB: The Night Where Everything Went Downhill

IPL 2017 Match 27 KKR vs RCB: When RCB Had The Worst Of Luck

Last Night’s match at Eden Gardens can be summed as in one of the worst performances ever given in IPL’s 10-year-old history. Royal Challenger Bangalore with one of the most celebrated and amazing batsmen in the world, went downhill and that too, the hard way. However, at a time when everyone is criticising RCB for one of their worst performances, we need to admire KKR’s bowling too. No matter how offline the whole form of a team is, it takes some serious hardships of bowlers to knock out the entire team.

Kolkata Knight Riders made a total of 131 and knowing RCB, this wasn’t a huge target for them to chase, and even KKR believed so. However, the entire team failed to do anything major during the chase and not even a single player made runs in double digits. Virat Kohli, being the captain of RCB, minced no words and seemed to be very emotional with his team’s performance. The star cricketer said, “Disgraceful batting, reckless from us, one of the worst collapses ever.”

The home team managed to topple out the visitors in no time and didn’t give the other side a lot of time on the pitch. Be it the captain or players like Gayle and AB de Villiers, no one was able to shine against KKR’s Colin de Grandhomme, Chris Woakes and Nathan Coulter-Nile. No one from RCB’s side was able to go beyond Kedar Jadhav’s 9 runs which are a first in IPL and third time ever in a T20. Last night was also the second time when both the teams got dismissed in an IPL match, prior to this, it only happened once is a match between Rajasthan Royals and Deccan Charges in Nagpur in 2010.

Nathan Coulter-Nile was the man of the match last night, for his 3-21. Many are also congratulating Gautam Gambhir for his decision to hold back his spinners and letting fast bowlers have their way. Last night’s win, takes KKR to the second spot in the points table and now they will go face to face with Rising Pune Superstars on 26th April, whereas, RCB will go back to their home ground and face Sunrisers Hyderabad, followed by Gujarat Lions.

A match like this, with the lowest total in IPL history, is sure to create a lot of stir online which is why Twitter went on a roll and had a lot to say. Basically, last night Royal Challengers Bangalore where Royally Challenged Bangalore.
