IPL 2017 Auction: The Final Squads

IPL 2017 Auction has finally come to an end and as expected, money was showered like anything to acquire the hottest properties in the industry, the cricketers. T20 cricket has come a long way and thanks to Indian Premier League, the standards tend to go higher and higher after every season.

The tournament of Maximums, is the biggest ever Indian league to be organised, irrespective of the sport and with it, comes great money. From budding Indian players who feature in Ranji and other domestic formats to superstars from around the world, everybody sees a fair share of a fight being fought for them.

IPL is also the best ever thing happened to Indian cricket as non-international players get to test themselves against the Big Boys. when the first ever IPL auction happened, it almost looked like a fantasy, the star-studded event saw businessmen and celebrities going head to head with each other, triggering the money war. While MS Dhoni was picked by CSK for Rs 6 Cr, years later, Yuvraj Singh’s name was registered in the history of Indian Premier League as the biggest ever buyout, Rs 16 Cr to be exact.

From Big Bash to England County Cricket, domestic cricket leagues emerged in every part of the World but they still have to come a long way to compete with IPL. The tournament tends to spring a surprise or two and the IPL 2017 Auction was no exception.

Eight teams namely, Delhi Daredevils, Gujrat Lions, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rising Pune Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad, crossed swords and sounded a clear holler for another Indian Premier League Edition.

1. Ben Stokes – Rising Pune Supergiants – 14.5 crore (Base price – 2 crore)

2. Tymal Mills – Royal Challengers Bangalore – 12 crore (Base price – 50 lakh)
