India Won The Series After Thrashing 8-Wicket Victory Against Zimbabwe.

India won the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe by crushing the host team by eight wickets in Harare on Monday. It was another dominant performance by Indian team as the skilled bowlers stopped the host team at 126 runs and the guest hardly broke a sweat to make the total of 127 runs in only 26.5 overs

Young leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was the utmost factor who broke the backbone of Zimbabwe’s middle order. Barinder Sran and Dhawal Kulkarni took 2 wickets each for India and led the team to a glorious win.

India won the toss and opted to bowl first. The host team openers Hamilton Masakadza and Chamu Chibhabha set foot on the ground. Zimbabwe got off to a disappointing start as Barinder dismissed Hamilton in the 5th over of the game when he was playing at 9.

Incoming batsman, Peter Moor was sent back in the 7th over, however Chamu was holding up at the other end. Vusi Sibanda came and smashed an amazing knock of 53 runs off 69 balls but after Zimbabwe lost their third wicket Chamu in the 10th over the team was unable to get back in the game.

After the dismissal of Chamu, Raza came to bat and scored 16 runs in 41 balls. The decreasing run rate of the team was already creating the hurdles but as Zimbabwe lost their last seven wickets for 20 runs, the team was left with a mere chance of winning. Zimbabwe posted a target of 126 runs with the loss of 10 wickets in 34.3 over.

The guest team as expected chased the modest target with ease. Lokesh Rahul and Karun Nair gave India a flying start as Rahul smashed 33 runs off 50 balls and Nair 39 runs off 68 balls. In the 15th over of the game, Chibhabha bowled Rahul and dismissed him. Ambati Rayudu came and he started thrashing runs for India with blazing shots, he thrashed 41 runs off 44 balls including 7 fours. The duo of Rayudu-Nair added 67 runs for India. In the 27th over Nair was dismissed by Raza but losing his wicket did not affect India’s innings. India needed only 2 runs to win but incoming batsmen Manish Pandey completed the match with a boundary.

India finished the match with 23.1 overs to spare and marked a well-deserved Victory.
