India vs Pakistan, as big as this rivalry is on the border, the same is the case when it comes to cricket. While the sport is a religion in India, an India vs Pakistan game is the most emotional encounter the world has ever seen in Cricket.
The emotions that come with this encounter often tend to cross all limits and it has always been an overwhelming experience for the fans of winning side. But for the team that ends up on the losing side, the wrath of fans is one thing that every player fears the most.
Fans often term an India vs Pakistan clash as a World Cup and during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, when these two teams went against each other at the Oval in London, the hype crossed all limits due to increasing on-border tensions as well as due to the fact that this was match that took almost two years in the making.
However, despite being the favorites and the defending Champions, India lost the finale as Pakistan went on and registered another upset in modern day cricket with an 180-runs victory. Keeping aside all the facts and what the result meant for each team, after the match, we saw fans taking the better of Indian team with the help of that ‘Baap’ comment.
First, we saw a fan using the same comment on Virat Kohli during the match and we saw a Pakistan fan mocking the Indian team by shouting “Baap Kon Hai” (Who’s your Father) when the squad was making its way to the dressing room. An ired Mohammed Shami lost his temper and started walking towards him before MS Dhoni quickly took the bowler away to avoid any incident.
However, during the post-match presentation, we saw another side of these two teams that made sure the ‘Gentleman’s Game’ remained intact to the sport. Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli were seen conversing with Shoaib Malik and Pakistan’s bowling coach Azhar Mahmood, in a video shared by ICC, in which, the two Indian batsmen burst into laughter after Shoaib Malik narrated a funny story using gestures with his hand.
This was enough to prove the bond shared between the two teams despite what fans or media portray and were the biggest example of ‘Spirit Of Cricket’.
Now, it’s been more than 48 hours since the India vs Pakistan clash concluded and we now have some pictures that is an answer to every extreme fan’s limitless emotions that don’t go well with the spirit of this game.
Pakistani cricketer Azhar Ali has tweeted some pictures that have touched a chord with people on either side of the border as they go on to show how Cricket has always been beyond boundaries and an India vs Pakistan match is not only about a rivalry. Azhar expressed his gratitude towards MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, and Indian Captain Virat Kohli, after they shared a quality time with his sons.
Azhar Ali’s tweet is indeed a lesson of humility.
As for both the teams, they move forward for their international commitments and the rivalry has certainly taken its best form, which is a good news for cricket fans all over the world.
At last, these pictures are such a heartening sight for fans on either side of the border as they see players sharing such excellent camaraderie off-field while competing fiercely, on it.
