India Vs England 3rd T20I Preview: Will Kohli Clinch The First T20I Series As Captain?

India Vs England T20I series is already standing on an interesting turn as the three-match T20I series squared at 1-1 and the final game will be the tiebreaker to reveal the champions of the series. The final game is due on 1st February 2016 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru and with one win each in their pockets, both the teams are aiming to steal the series.

Where India is aiming to pocket another series, England will be thrusting their players talent to end their humdrum tour on a positive note.

Indian Team Performance Preview.

While Indian team was showering runs in the Test and ODI formats against England, in T20I despite of some changed members and batting lineup, the host displayed a poor performance in batting. Skipper Virat Kohli who is also known as ‘One Man Army’ of cricket wasn’t able to produce runs in compliance with his potential. The opening pair Lokesh Rahul and Virat Kohli, did gave a strong start but Lokesh Rahul’s batting added more runs for India.

The middle order with Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Yuvraj Singh hasn’t been able to pile up a good score either and the lower down line up consisting youngster Manish Pandey is fueling momentum to meet the needs of keeping the game alive.

Although the visitors succeeded to restrict the hosts to below par scores, India managed to win the second game with the help of old warhorse Ashish Nehra and last minute heroic bowling of pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

The dry and flat deck at the Chinnaswamy Stadium can be turned into a run-feast but ICC No. 2-ranked side will have to grab the opportunity in order to do so. As of yet, in both the T20I the middle order of India miserably failed to click and if Indian team is hoping to win this series as well then they will have to refrain England from taking the advantage to restrict the hosts to below par scores.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli may test the bench by including Rishabh Pant and Mandeep Singh in the third game. As far as the bowling line up is concerned, India will hope to see Bumrah and Nehra at the same pace and will also bid on the bowling skills of Amit Mishra, Yuzvendra Chahal and part-timer Raina to restrict the guests from scoring in the game.

England Team Performance Preview:

Visitors have been on the downside from the beginning. Losing both Test and ODI series to India, they revived with the first T20I as they clinched the victory by 7 wickets. Their batting line up thrashed back strongly as Joe Root, Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes have successfully added noteworthy scores for the team. Though the opening duo Jason Roy and Sam Billings’ performance was uplifting but the middle batting order of England was the score garner for the team.

The bowlers of the No. 4-ranked team have been quite persistent in their performances in the shortest format of the game and they will again try to hit back the shaking Indian line-up at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

England has preferred to bat second to chase the score in both the previous matches of the series and they may go on with the same strategy in the final match. The batting will once again dwell between Root, Morgan and Stokes as England’s team will put their efforts to the max in order to end their dismal tour on a winning note.

Conclusion: India does have an advantage of dry and flat deck batting-friendly track at the Chinnaswamy Stadium but Chris Jordan have played for RCB at the same track and his experience will be quite handy for England. As both teams are putting all of their efforts, the final of India Vs England T20I series can turn into another nail-biting match.
