ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Here Are The Eight Ambassadors

ICC Champions Trophy 2017, one of the most anticipated tournaments of this year, is all set to entertain us after the ongoing IPL 2017 and this is one tournament where a clash between India and Pakistan is certain, which is also one of the biggest reasons behind this anticipation.

Eight of the best One Day teams will clash in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 aka the mini-World Cup and it is going to be one hell of an entertaining journey for Cricket fans all over the world. People say that T20 is the best format to witness the actual potential of players but the truth is, 50-Overs cricket actually tests a player’s experience as well as talent.

India will be defending the title against New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, Australia, Sri Lanka South Africa and Pakistan. The defending champions are also the only second team that have won this tournament twice after Australia and after a glorious home season, the Virat Kohli-led side will enter the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 as the favorites.

On one side, IPL 2017 is taking the world by storm with teams like Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad finally proving their mettle in the 10th edition. Some of the hottest properties are playing in this cash-laden tournament and soon they will go against their teammates after resuming national duties.

International Cricket Council has sounded a holler to this upcoming blistering tournament, that will feature some of the most stellar cricketers from around the globe, by announcing the list of ICC announces Champions Trophy 2017 ambassadors from the eight nations, who will also be part of the ICC editorial team.

The eight ambassadors have 1,774 One-Day Internationals, 51,906 runs with 48 centuries and 838 wickets between them and here is the full list.

Surprisingly, Harbhajan Singh has been named as the Indian ambassador to ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and while he hasn’t been going through his best of forms recently, his appointment is more than a testament to prove his class and dominance in World Cricket.

While his batting stats are not ‘so’ impressive in One Days, it’s his bowling that has dominated the format over the years. Harbhajan Singh has bowled 2079.5 overs in his ODI career, which is the second most after Shahid Afridi and has taken 269 wickets, which is also the second best after Afridi. He is only the third bowler in the list who have 5-wicket hauls under his belt, his best being 5 for 31.
