In a T-20 match of Big Bash League Chris Gayle levels Yuvraj Singh’s T20 record of fastest 50 in 12 balls, for Melbourne Renegades against Adelaide Strikers. Chris Gayle slams 12 Balls 50 and his innings included seven sixes and two fours with the incredible strike rate of 329.41.
Though Gayle was dismissed for 56 off 17 balls by Adelaide Strikers’ player Travis Head, but his storming innings earned a world record in his name today.
Gayle doesn’t only levels the record of fastest 50 made by Yuvraj Singh in 2007 World 20-20 but also he smashed the record of fastest fifty in Big Bash League made jointly by Tim Ludeman and Chris Lynn in 18 Balls. His impressive start of four smashing sixes in the opening over and then 22 runs off third over earned him 44 runs in just 11 deliveries. On the first ball of the fourth over he smashed a six and made the 50-run mark.
Well, Gayle’s game was his answer to the recent controversy of an interview with Channel 10 journalist Mel McLaughlin during a Big Bash League match. He was mocked and protested by many but he apologised later saying it was a “simple joke”. Maybe his bat was saying you don’t get jokes then take some smashing hits.
