Yesterday, Indian Premier League came, to the television near us, for its 10th edition. And, like every year, the league started with an extravagant opening ceremony which has previously seen performers like Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and many such celebrities. This time, IPL saw the opening night with a performance from Amy Jackson who is the female lead of Rajnikanth’s 2.0.
Amy Jackson entered on the tunes of ‘Kala Chashma’ and went on to perform on many such songs, however, the audience at home was not quite entertained. They had a lot to critique about Jackson’s performance which was quite off the track, or at least that’s what we think.
The opening ceremony took place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and the critiques within 140 characters soon started to roll out on Twitter, from the minute she stepped in. From wearing blue shades for Kala Chashma to a lot of finger snapping and hip movement. That’s it, that’s all that happened on the opening night and one just can’t miss the fact that the 10th edition opening ceremony was special kind of bad.
While we all know that live television has its own kind of hit and misses in India, however, this year’s opening ceremony just topped it all of, in terms of misses and not hits.
We don’t even know if we should be happy for this or sad?
