Amitabh Bachchan Trolls Australian Media Over Comparing Virat Kohli To Donald Trump

Amitabh Bachchan has backed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli after the latter was declassed by Australian Media and was called the Donald Trump of World Sports. The seniority of Mr. Bachchan has given him a lot of experience to tackle these type of situations and the words he has chosen might have pierced through the heart of all the mindless cartoons.

All this started with the DRS controversy during the second test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Bengaluru where Steven Smith was clearly seen asking the dressing room about whether to review his dismissal or not. Virat Kohli was displeased with the Aussie skipper and exchanged some fired-up words with him, before the umpire sent Smith back to the pavilion.
Virat Kohli hasn’t had an opposition thrashing performance in the ongoing series but there had been some firecrackers throughout. The tension continued in the 3rd test when he suffered a shoulder injury and Steven Smith allegedly mocked him by clinching his own shoulder. The one this Indian is definitely the best at is giving answers and registering a comeback and that is what happened again.

During the third Test, Kohli celebrated David Warner’s dismissal by clutching his own shoulder, apparently retaliating Smith mocking his shoulder injury.

Here is what Australian media had written in an article

They claimed that Virat Kohli, just like President Trump, decided to blame the media to hide the egg smeared right across his face. It seems that the focus of Australian media is to bring Virat Kohli down.

“The fact Kohli has not been sanctioned for calling the Australians systematic cheats or his latest unfounded attack on Smith shows that he is completely untouchable. The ICC won’t fine him. Not even the BCCI, who through their broadcaster apologised to Smith, can get their skipper to tow the party line,” the article said. (Seriously??)

They even targeted Anil Kumble for the Monkeygate scandal in Sydney in 2007-08 where Michael Clarke had taken Sourav Ganguly’s catch after one bounce and the then skipper Ricky Ponting pointed the finger heavenwards to indicate a clean catch. “Kohli might be the aggressor in the brazen campaign India is running against Australia’s integrity — even striking an Australian official with an orange Gatorade bottle — but coach Kumble, one of the main instigators of the Monkeygate fiasco, would appear to have reclaimed his role as the puppeteer behind the scenes,” the OZ Media said.

This is what India always goes through, be it the border or Cricket. We give every chance to the opposition to get on the right track but they never back down and try to irk us more. However, this time Amitabh Bachchan had some words for them and the Indian side is loving it!!

This is not the first time that Australian media have tried to downgrade Virat Kohli’s image and while the Indian captain has always been aggressive, despite his below-par performances, the series has given him back as much as he has taken from the visitors and it might be something the visitors cannot seem to digest.

The biggest question here is:

Australian Cricket team is world-famous for sledging tactics but when they are on the receiving end, why the hell can’t they be a sport?

Australian Media, on the other hand, stood true to their character and have only added fuel to their ire at Virat Kohli.

What if India wins the Border-Gavaskar Trophy? What if Australian team leaves with their heads down? Will they take a lesson this time? Or there is no end to this acrimony?
