Facing an interview is easy but keeping the results positive at the end of it is not. Most of unknowingly make small mistakes during an interview that become the reason for being turned down repeatedly. After the rejection, we often wonder where did things go wrong and despite being skilled and qualified for the position, what common blunders snatched that opportunity out of your hands?

Most of the employers have their desks flooded with the resumes of applicants, and they have a zero tolerance for mistakes. You may think it is a mistake but for them, it is a blunder. 1. Adapt The Dress Code.

It’s not necessary that you have to wear formal, “suited and booted” sort always. Different companies have different dress codes. Make sure you are aware of the dress code of the company so that you can dress up accordingly. If it has a formal environment then go for formals but if they have a more casual dress code then dress up accordingly. Appearing with a wrong dress code can make the interviewer feel uncomfortable and it also makes you look unprofessional.

2. Make Sure You Have Your Questions Ready.

Many interviewers ask if you have any questions or not. make sure your answer is always “Yes”, as it indicates that you have prepared for the interview thoroughly. Ask smart questions about the company and job profile, it will show that you thought about the company and your designation. Even if you don’t have any questions, ask about the work culture or working strategies of the company.

3. Remember The Name.

Remembering the names of your interviewer always leaves a good impression. make sure you apply this role to everyone you meet right from the time you see the foot in the office. At the end of your interview, tell your interviewer that it was nice meeting him/her and add his/her name.

4. Give And Receive Respect.

First impression matters and it’s not only the interviewer who needs to be impressed. Treat everyone with respect because everyone from the receptionist to the person who takes you to the interview room to your interviewer everyone is equally important.

5. Research Is Important.

Make sure you know about the company and your employer. It’s not necessary that you brag about the information you have gathered from your research but if a question pops up then it is quite impressive to see that you have done your research.

6. Explanations Should Be Convincing.

The reasoning behind your CV gaps and leaving your last job should be convincing. It shouldn’t sound irresponsible, every explanation should be logical as your employer will be listening to it carefully and judging you on that. Try to avoid any negative comments about your former company or employees, it makes a negative impression.
