24 Ways That Will Really Make Your Face Look Younger

One of the nicest compliments a woman can receive is to be told she looks younger than her age. Without resorting to a face-lift, you can wipe years off your face by following the advice of some experts.

Here are 24 tips that make your face look younger from the experts:

Drink six glasses of water a day to replace the fluid in the skin cells that naturally dry out with age to cause wrinkling and creasing.

For a temporary boost to your skin, hold a wet compress against the face for about 10 minutes. This will help put water into the skin cells.

Avoid saunas. They promote loss of water, which, in turn, speeds up the skin’s ageing process.

Eat plenty of protein. Protein and water are the two foods required to nourish the skin. Cheese, eggs, red meat and other high-protein foods, along with your six glasses of water a day will rejuvenate your skin.

Don’t wear moisturizers during the day. They absorb water from the skin, causing more harm than good. The best protection is a silicone-base cream.

Let your skin breathe at least one day a week by not wearing makeup, which absorbs dirt and dust that get into the skin.

Avoid quick-drying face masks if you have dry skin. They make your skin even dryer.

#8

Avoid intensive sun, wind, and if possible, sweating as all three remove precious water from the skin, making it look old and leathery.

When applying makeup, note that the lines that go down are age lines and the lines that go up are youth lines or happy lines. The latter are the lines to accentuate.

#10

Don’t pull the corner of your eye down with a heavy line. This accentuates droopiness around the eye.

If the area above the eyes is slightly heavy or puffy, don’t accentuate this area as younger women do with makeup. All you will do is highlight what you are trying to downplay.

Keep your foundation light. The heavier it is the older you look.

Avoid having eyebrows or eye shadow too dark. Lighter colors are much more flattering and youthful.

Avoid corrective makeup. It tends to crack when you laugh or talk, revealing what you are trying to hide even more startlingly.

#15

To take the emphasis away from those dark circles under the eyes, highlight the cheekbones to look darker.

Get your haircut in a shorter style, no longer than the jawbone, for a more youthful look.

Don’t forget your hands while paying attention to your face as they can give away your age. Use bright nail polish to detract from age spots.

To remove dead skin and to cleanse the pores, rub your face with a mixture of ½ teaspoon of yellow cornmeal and a little water. Rinse off.

#21

Make a beauty mask by mixing a ½ teaspoon of fresh egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt and 1 teaspoon of honey. Cover your face and neck with this rather runny mixture, and leave  on for 15 minutes before rinsing off.

#22

Get a bowl of water, add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and splash your face with this to restore an acid mantle to the skin surface which will help resist bacteria and infection.

#23

Have a silent time every day to shrug off any stress and negative emotions which create toxins that deaden the skin cells.

#24

Take a regular exercise program to stimulate circulation; keep your weight at the right level for your size and age; relax before bedtime so that you get the maximum benefit from sleep.
