When Is The Right Time To Drink Water?

The answer to a seemingly simple and self-explanatory question isn’t, let’s say, all that simple. So how is that? Before we get into that, here’s a simple example- how do you realize that you need money? Well, of course, only when you realize that it’s over- right?

Likewise, the right time to drink water is when you realize that you are thirsty.

No jokes. This isn’t a place for pun; it’s as basic as it can get, you know!

But do you know what the funny part is? Many a time, people do not realize that they are even thirsty. Now imagine how would they know the need to gulp down water?

Perhaps that is why they say that it is important to listen to one’s body. Science says that the human brain is capable of recognising the trigger points that indicate the right time to drink water.

One such signal is the feeling of hunger.

How’s it connected to drinking water?

Many people simply do not realize that they are thirsty when they are struck by hunger. That being said, before one makes time to much down food, one is advised to intake some water as that’s really essential.

What’s interesting here is that many a time, drinking water may actually satisfy one’s hunger pangs and hence negate the need to eat.

But that is not all.

Specifically speaking, there’s another time of the day that constitutes the right time to drink water. Any guesses? The first thing in the morning!

Did you know this one?

Drinking water first thing in the morning is amongst the best things to do as it is really a good time to be hydrated. As a matter of factly, there’s a ritual attached to having water early in the morning. Here’s how!

Many like to pinch half a lemon into their glass of water. What that does is that it actually contributes Vitamin C and Potassium, i.e., key nutrients, to the drinker.

But let’s move forward; what might be the other key occasion to drink water?

Here’s a clue; it’s simpler than what you may think.

“Whenever you feel sweaty and feel you stand the chance to lose out on a lot fluids, that’s the time to drink water. It is a simple mathematical equation of sorts; you put back in what you lost in the process of fluid loss,” exclaimed a leading lifestyle content website: Webmd.

That said, why’s it important in the first place that you immediately retake what you release?

Here’s what you need to know without any delay.

You need to have lots of water to replace what you sweat out. But then how much is too much? Before you work out or spend time outside, fill up your bottle with 16 to 20 ounces of H2O. Drink 6 to 12 ounces about every 10-15 minutes while you’re active. Afterward, drink up again — another 16 to 24 ounces. (reference: webmd.com)

But having said that, here’s what’s most important. Cliches be damned; water is needed by the human body.

So just listen to your body to know when you’re thirsty and follow the steps mentioned above to know the right time to drink water.
