What are the Benefits Of Avocado? Is it Ok to Eat an Avocado a Day?

Avocados are healthy and go very well with almost any diet. It contains many unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. But what are the benefits of Avocado that many of us don’t know? Let’s find out.

Avocados began to be cultivated over 10,000 years ago in the tropical regions of the world, such as South and Central America, Southeast Asia or Africa. Today the pear-shaped butter fruit also grows in the subtropics like southern Spain and Israel. However, North and Central America are currently the world’s leading avocado producers.

Avocado trees can grow up to 20 meters and remind a little of walnut trees with their lush foliage. The avocado itself can be as small as a pear, but can also reach the size of a child’s head.

However, the large varieties rarely come onto the market, since they are not as storable, especially since they can weigh more than 1 kilogram. It does not mean that the benefits of avocado vary with size.

What are the Benefits of Avocado?

1. The avocado is a Superfood

Avocados are a superfood because they are very filling due to their high fat content and are therefore an important part of the menu, especially with vegan raw food nutrition.

They transform salads into a full main meal and provide you with interesting amounts of nutrients and vital substances without any harmful effects.

2. An avocado is Free of Cholesterol

The main advantage is usually the fat profile of the avocado. It is said to be cholesterol-free, as if it were something special for a plant-based food. Their high content of unsaturated fatty acids and the low content of saturated fatty acids are appreciated.

It is believed that avocado is a heart-healthy food and protects against heart and vascular diseases. It is automatically assumed that cholesterol and also saturated fatty acids are fundamentally bad, but this is not even proven.

3. Avocado Has a Great Taste

Apart from the benefits of avocado, the unique taste of a ripe and creamy avocado is a decisive criterion because just about every meal gets better with the addition of avocado pieces or cream.

4. Avocado Has Healthy Fats

Avocados contain healthy, unsaturated fatty acids and are therefore long-lasting sources of energy. They protect you from food cravings and help with weight control. The enzyme lipase is responsible for this because it controls fat burning during digestion by splitting fats from food.
