This Model With A Genetic Disorder Is Breaking The Constraints Of The Fashion Industry

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

We have come across this single saying way too many times, however, not much has changed in our society and the fashion industry which still moves on with a limited space for people to get involved in. We still have an ideal face and body and color type which calls out, who’s beautiful and who’s not, who’ll be successful as a model, and who’ll not.

However, every now and then we come across some inspiring stories that basically shatters all these misconceptions in the blink of an eye. One such story is of Melanie Gaydos, a 28-year-old model from America, who’s tearing apart the constraints of what a model should look like. Gaydos has a genetic disorder called ectodermal dysplasia, from which she suffers from the day she was born. This rare genetic condition prevents teeth, nails, pores, cartilage, and bones from developing.

Because of this disorder, she was bullied and shamed her entire life, however, she never summoned to this particular thing and always dreamed big. She gathered all her courage and realized that her illness can’t limit her dreams. Gaydos started her journey, some four years ago, and these images are a proof of how much she has grown because of her work.

These stunning images show us that nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams if you finally start working on them.
