Best Home Remedies For Pigmentation On Face That Works As A Miracle

Pigmentation of the skin is a condition in which some area of skin becomes discolored. It can appear as a dark patch (hyperpigmentation) or discolored light patches (hypopigmentation). We all are suffering from it in some way or the other, but there are tons of ways in which you can have pigmentation treatment at home with some effective home remedies for pigmentation.

But first, let’s understand more about pigmentation and why it occurs?

Your skin’s pigmentation or color is due to the production of a substance called Melanin. It can occur at different parts of your face, but it commonly occurs around one’s mouth and their T-Zone, as well as, under their cheekbones.

Hyper-pigmentation

This kind of pigmentation occurs due to excessive Melanin production by the skin cells. There are some effective home remedies for pigmentation on the face of this kind.

1. Potato and Lemon – Home Remedies For Face Pigmentation

Potatoes contain an enzyme called catecholase which reduces the melanin production on pigmented skin and lightens it. On the other hand, lemon is said to be a natural bleach that helps in clearing the skin blemishes and the high concentration of vitamin C conditions and tightens your skin. This remedy is very useful as pigmentation treatment at home is caused by UV-A and UV-B rays.

You will need:

  • One medium-size potato
  • One lemon

Procedure:

Grate the potato and add the juice of a lemon in it and make a mask and apply it to your skin. Leave it for 20-30 minutes then wash with cold water. Apply it twice a week to see positive changes.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar – Face Pigmentation Home Remedies

Apple cider vinegar is an astringent known to do wonders when it comes to dark brown patches on the skin.

You will need:

  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Water
  • Cotton balls

Procedure:

Mix equal parts of water and Apple cider vinegar wash the area with this mixture leave for 10 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water. To get the desired results, apply this twice a day for a month.

3. Lemon and Honey

Honey being one of the best natural moisturizers helps to make the skin supple and lemon being a natural bleach lightens the skin tone. Honey also contains the enzymes which reduce the melanin production of the skin cells.

You will need:

  • Juice of one lemon
  • 2 tablespoon honey

Procedure:

Mix honey and lemon juice apply it on the pigmented area. Cover your face with a wet towel or moist wipes, leave it for 20 minutes. Do this treatment once a week until you get the desired results.

4. Turmeric and Milk Mask

Turmeric is considered as one of the best home remedies for pigmentation. It has been used for ages to treat pigmentation and lighten the skin tone, whereas milk provides nourishment to the skin.

You will need:

  • Milk 10-12 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder 5-6 tablespoons

Procedure:

Mix both the ingredients and make a smooth paste of it. Apply on the affected area and massage in circular motions. Wash it off with lukewarm water when the mask gets dry.

5. Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera is known for its cooling effects on the skin. It contains mucilaginous polysaccharides that can effectively lighten dark spots. You can either use your homegrown aloe vera and extract the gel out of it or buy it from a nearby market.

Procedure:

Gently apply aloe vera juice or gel on the affected area and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water. Use this remedy twice a day to get a glowing and even skin tone.

Hypo-pigmentation

This type of pigmentation is quite complex and usually needs medical attention. Still, some home remedies for pigmentation like ginger water and almond paste can be helpful but many are still iffy about it, so make sure to do a patch test beforehand.

These were some of the ways how you can treat pigmentation at home and see wonderful results in a shorter period, while also being affordable. Most of these home remedies for pigmentation on the face are trusted widely and effective in most of the cases, still, if the problem remains persistent you should seek medical help.
