Can’t Fall Asleep? Ditch These 5 Things And You’re Off In No Time
Ditch these 5 things for when you can’t fall asleep and you’re good to go and get a good sleep.
Sleep is basically everyone’s second love, the first is food, however, there are times when no matter what you do, you just can’t fall asleep. It happens to all of us and it’s absolutely frustrating because you know that you’ve been looking forward to this moment for the entire day and now that you’ve reached your bed, sleep just doesn’t want to workout with you. Nothing sucks more than this. Every one of us deserves a good amount of Quality Sleep to work on for the next day.
But then we do various other things that make the situation almost impossible to work out. So, we decided to decode the reasons behind this and came up with six things that one should definitely not do, that they otherwise end up doing, when they can’t fall asleep.
1. Stressing About It
Stressing about not falling asleep will definitely not help you in falling asleep. Worrying about anything keeps people awake. Try to just accept it and not worry, and see the difference.
2. Using Your Phone or Computer
The first thing that we do, when we can’t fall asleep is to simply resort on our phones and computers for comfort, which is absolutely wrong. These devices produce light that makes it incredibly hard to sleep, so why would you want something like that?
3. Staying In Bed For More Than 20 Minutes
If you’ve been in bed for some 20-30 minutes and still can’t fall asleep then do one thing and get out of your bed. Go to another room and do something restful like reading, and return just when you feel like sleeping, which comes pretty easily and early.
4. Eating Something Heavy
Eating can be a really unhealthy option to go for when you can’t sleep. This is this, for two simple reasons. First, your body needs some time to digest the food that you had, before hitting the bed. Second, because a heavy meal might end up not getting digested properly and this will leave in a weird situation, all throughout the next day. Now, no one wants to go through something like that.
5. Drinking Something Intoxicating
The best idea that pops into everyone’s mind, when they just can’t fall asleep, is to drink a glass of wine or some other drink. And, while the idea is very tempting, try to avoid it. Drinking just to get a sound sleep will eventually turn into a habit one day and then you won’t be able to live your sleep like a normal and healthy person, who is not dependent on something for his/her sleep.
Now that you know about these things, how many changes do you need to bring in your schedule?
