Monday is like an evil twin of satan who has decided to make our life miserable. Only people who have to get up early and hit the road to their work and colleges understand what a pain Monday is. I mean after a thrilling weekend who wants to wake up early and leave for a place where fun is just a myth. This instant 360 turn from an exciting Sunday to a boring Monday not only turns on the mood swing switch but also brings anxiety, sadness and stress and these feelings are called Monday Blues.
Yup! They are real and they are so negative that even all the happy moments of fun filled weekend can’t help. It is now a cultural phenomenon and they are nothing to laugh about as Monday Blues can be more than just a passing tiredness.
1. Identify What’s Not Working Out
I mean there should be a reason you are not feeling happy even if it is related to work. Ask yourself what is wrong, so that you can fix it. After all, you can not just live with it. So ask yourself what’s bothering you or keeping you on a negative side so that you can take charge and change it. Empowering your emotions will improve the situation. ( Cheer Up Yourself )
2. Friday Preparation!!
If it is work and you think that your Monday is extra stressful because your work is piled up then make sure you take care of all the extra work that needs to be done on Friday itself. It will help combating the anxiety you experience on Monday morning and will give you a much better start of the week. ( You can earn some brownie points too)
3. Make A List Of Exciting Things
Monday is not the only day in the week, so instead of stressing about a single day think of the whole week and list down the things you look forward to at work or out of work. This will brighten you up and keep your mood positive. ( If you can’t find anything then you seriously need to make some changes in your life)
4. Get Up Early And Get The Day Going!
I know Sunday night can be really hectic as it’s the last time of your weekend and you probably want to spend more time chilling with your friends but remember that the clock doesn’t stop ticking. So, instead of running away from your bed, go to bed a little early so that you can get a sound nap. Giving your body and mind enough sleep will automatically make you feel happy in the morning and you can avoid that all day dizziness easily.
5. Dress To Impress Yourself
You know what wonder a perfectly compiled attire could do. So, if Monday Morning is you a hard time, do not back out instead suit up and look amazing. The ready to rock look will get you more compliments and you will have a shiny day at the work. ( Clothes do help a lot)
6. Stay Positive
Instead of cursing the bloody Monday, think all the good things you like about your work. Appreciate your life and work so that you can give yourself a perfect start. Try listening to your favourite songs while you are preparing to go to work. ( Make It everyday mantra)
7. Do Something Nice
Make a vow to yourself that you will do at least one thing nice for somebody today. Doing positive things for others makes your heart happy and positive and other people are amazing at lifting spirits. This one deed can shift your overall mood. ( No Good Deed Go Unrewarded)
8. Blend Work With Fun
Everyone loves someone who can giggle them up so don’t be a bore and try to lighten up yourself a bit. You can bring a quick breakfast for you and your favourite colleague that you can share over a gossip or a funny conversation or you can just share your weekend stories with all of them. (Keep It Interesting)
9. Plan Your Monday Night
Monday should not be about ‘how am I going to get through this day‘, it should be more of ‘how about I make it special by having dinner at my favourite restaurant‘. Make a plan for Monday night but keep it early since you need to go to work on Tuesday. Your day should not be all about getting up and going to the office. (Make most of it)
