The social media stratosphere erupted in a huge wave of respect for the King of Sweden. Twitteratis had their own things to say as did Facebook-users. In fact, observing something so dynamic and indicative of sheer groundedness, one Twitter user even said the following about the man who was the centre of everybody’s attraction: the King of Sweden.
The Twitter user exclaimed, “Very very inspirational and humbling to see the King and Queen of Sweden carry their own bags,” wrote one Twitter user.
Meanwhile, there were other impressions that quickly spiralled into forming a lot of attention in the online world. For instance, noting this tremendously brilliant and hitherto rare act, particularly from the point of view of men of gentry and that belonging to the nobility, another user shared:
“His Majesty Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus , King of Sweden and Her Majesty Silvia Renate Sommerlath travelled AI168 Stockholm to Delhi,” wrote Air India on Twitter, sharing two pics of the royals being greeted at the airport.
How often, it must be asked, do individuals belonging to esteemed, rich, famous, or to put it simply, grand backgrounds such as kings and queens of a nation-state (or Republic) are seen in the public light, carrying their own bags or fending for themselves, without depending on any kind of help?
Truth be told, it hardly ever happens- isn’t it? But then, it should also be said that not everyone is the King of Sweden.
Handsome, grounded, compassionate, and sincere- these are just some of the adjectives one might rightly associate with the King of Sweden, who is currently on an important tour to India.
Carl XVI Gustav, the King of Sweden is here in the national capital, and is accompanied by his wife, Queen Silvia.
NDTV noted some key aspects concerned with the distinguished guest of the country and happened to share:
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived in Delhi this morning for a five-day visit. The royal couple flew in on an Air India plane from Stockholm, and the national carrier tweeted photos of them at the Delhi airport. Pics of the Swedish royal couple immediately went viral as people noticed that King Carl arrived carrying his own bags – a gesture that has won him a lot of praise on social media.
In a bid to boost the trade ties and further the vital bi-lateral relations between the two countries, the King of Sweden is here in India and is expected to visit famous touristic landmarks of our vibrant country.
It is believed that he will be spending the majority of his time in the country’s national capital.
NDTV also happened to share:
The king and the queen who arrived here early this morning, were accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. In Delhi, the King and Queen visited Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Gandhi Smriti on Monday. The King also met with President Ram Nath Kovind on ways to further boost relations.
Truth be told, there’s an incredible lesson in the way the King of Sweden showcased his utter simplicity- isn’t it?
