For the longest time now, parents across India have lacked smiles and been putting up with a sense of doubt, which hitherto now, hasn’t really subsided. So what is troubling the Indian parents at the moment? In an age where we are surrounded by technology and phrases like online classes, just how casual has the concept of the concept of physical schooling become? Do you, the Indian parent, recollect the exact last date where your child visited the school? Kids caged inside their homes, parents pushing them to study whilst ideas like playing video games or spending time on social media appear more enjoyable- the basic act of a kid visiting his school in person has become a thing of the past all thanks to the pandemic.
The vital question, therefore, is, when are the schools going to open in the country? Truth be told, nothing would be quite as rewarding as parents seeing their children visiting their actual schools instead of spending hours and hours together behind the laptop screens.
Though, for a while now there haven’t really been any answers as to when might our schools reopen. This clearly has increased the anxiety among parents so used to leading a normal lifestyle!
But thankfully, the government has answered the very pertinent question, which may surely have brought a sense of relief to tens of thousands of perturbed parents.
It’s been informed that soon as the majority of teachers are vaccinated, the Indian government informed, will the schools be readied to accept children.
For a while now, the very country that was witnessing harrowing times in the past, has witnessed a gradual decline in the number of everyday COVID cases.
This, is without a speck of doubt, huge positive news for the country that had seen far worse days in the past, during the month of April, in particular.
That being told, in a report published on NDTV, here is what came to light on perhaps one of the real pressing matters that India is currently facing:
“A lot of things need to be considered while deciding on reopening schools it’s a different topic entirely. This is a question that keeps coming in the govt system,” shared Dr VK Paul, Niti Aayog (health) member.
Furthermore, he would add, “There are teachers, helpers. We must take every aspect into consideration before deciding on when to open the schools.”
Dr Paul responded while citing the AIIMS, World Health Organization (WHO) study of equal seroprevalence among children, and claiming the cases among children have been relatively milder.
As many countries had to shut down their schools again after the Covid outbreak was reported, Dr Paul said, “We don’t want to put our children, teachers in that situation unless we have more confidence that the pandemic won’t harm us.”
So, to conclude, it appears that there is still some time left before normality can take place again and the children can duly return to their schools. Until then, the irate parents, for there is no other way to call them, will have to stick with the online classes routine. What else can anyone do?
