Let’s just admit and settle this once in for all, our Ministers need to get someone to cross-check the things they are about to say in public before they say it. Because they for one can really not be trusted with their ideas, thinking and words.
We have way too many instances just from the near-past to back this.
Just a while back, Union Minister Satyapal Singh claimed that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution was scientifically wrong, as no one never really saw a monkey transform into a human being. Or atleast, it has not been mentioned in our books from the past. *slow claps*
Now, another minister is out with he a theory of his own to take the world and social media for an interesting ride.
Tripura’s Chief Minister Biplab Deb during a regional workshop on Public Distribution System (PDS) in Agartala, said that the Internet existed during the Mahabharata time and was actually invented “lakhs” of years ago. Along with this he also mentioned how not the US or any other foreign country was the one to invent the Internet, it was India.
“Many may decline the fact, but if the Internet was not there, how Sanjay, could see the war in Kurukshetra and describe it to Dhritarashtra? It means Internet was there, the satellites and that technology was there in this country at that time,” Deb was quoted as saying by Tripura Infoway. “I feel proud that I am born in a country with such an advanced technology, the countries which claim themselves to be technologically advanced are hiring Indian talent to upgrade their software mechanism,” he added.
A statement like this one from an influential figure like this one is enough to bring nationwide’s attention to it, following a whole lot of mockery. However, that’s not how Indian reacted on the Internet, in fact, they went ahead to totally back CM Deb’s statement about Internet existed during Mahabharata. And, they for one used some of the hilarious examples to justify his case. Check out the reactions over here:
