Who is Ji Hao and Why’s She Making News In India?

How far would you go for love? And does it have a reference to Ji Hao?

Not some movie-title. Not some weird punchline that seems it might have been used to act ‘cool!’ This is a question you think of when you hear the story of those who go out of our comfort zone to make things happen. The beauty then is that many a time, things aren’t even in their hands. The outcome of an effort isn’t too much inclined toward positivity; whether or not a decision or outcome of their effort would work in their favor is not known. Is it?

Yet, none of those concerns seemed to matter Ji Hao when this less-known Chinese national traveled to India, obviously, the country not seeming in the least, her homeland.

Well, guess? Yeah, you may have guessed it rightly. In Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur, Ji Hao, a Chinese national tied the knot with the love of her life. It was, surely, one of the most beautiful moments for her hubby- Satyarth Mishra, who came across his fellow student in Canada, where the two studied together at the Oakville-based Sheridon University.

But truth be told, while on the one hand such scenarios- that often seem borrowed from a Bollywood narrative, may not actually be rare cases.

Surely, there’ve been several individuals in the limelight who’ve perhaps uncannily or should one say, unexpectedly, married individuals from another nationality.

Many of these are often celebs. For instance, former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait, famously married Mashoom Singha, who, with all due respect, wasn’t the most famous Indian around when one compares the express pacer’s popularity.

This is a classic and heartening tale of love knowing literally knowing ‘boundaries’!

Rohman Shawl, Sushmita’s beau isn’t perhaps the most famous man in the world while his wife is a former Miss Universe.

But in Ji Hao’s case, a not-so unusual tale, after all, we learn that what matters most in the end, is love.

At the top of it, we also get to understand the importance of a common adage, one used rather lightly and funnily especially in India. How often have we heard- “Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai!!?”

Just that in this case, there’s anything but indicative of the general cold waves that one feels with a neighboring country, that on the one hand, inspires awe for its infrastructural heights and yet, causes a certain disconsolation for showing extremism, at times against the common man, on other occasions, in exercising free-will in military actions.

But Ji Hao’s tale also tells us that both India and China can actually foster love and share a common bond called humanity or should one say, the ‘love for one another?’

In these times, often marred by some sort of geopolitical chaos, it’s real-life stories and not some fictional make-belief that make us realize the importance of unconditional love.

Covering interesting information about this special on-of-a-kind marriage, India Today happened to share the following:

The marriage has been scheduled according to Indian rituals on February 2 in Satyarth’s hometown.

The engagement ceremony took place the day before, for which the bride’s parents flew in from China, reaching India on January 29. They were accompanied by Ji’s three other close relatives.

The couple was seen dancing jubilantly to Indian tunes at the engagement they had been eagerly waiting for. The excitement of marriage was clearly visible on their faces and Satyarth’s friends and relatives seemed awestruck at the sight of the new bride.

That told the views of Ji Hao, a simple and candid woman express the regard this Chinese national has about a country with whom though India has close economic ties but also varied differences in the area of co-operation that touches the contours of diplomacy.

She said, “India is a nice country with nice people, and also nice food as well.” She also said that she finds India “colourful and amazing”!
