1. Tamil Nadu assembly passes the bill to make Jallikattu a legal sport.

The Jallikattu bill has been passed by the Tamil Nadu assembly which makes the bull-taming sport legalised after the protest took a violent turn. A protest that started on a peaceful and calm note took an adverse turn today, after which various vehicles were put on fire. The protesters started clashing with the police and attacked them with stones and bricks.

2. The Jammu and Kashmir Govt. identified 100 acres of land for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits.

The Jammu and Kashmir Government identified 100 acres of land for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits across 10 districts of the valley. The Kashmiri Pandits who migrated from Kashmir in 1990 after the rise of militancy in the valley were promised rehabilitation by the NDA government who have already allocated 500 crores for the process. The centre has also asked the state government to fill vacancies that were reserved for the Kashmiri Pandits.

3. More than a dozen people were evacuated after a World War II bomb found near Hong Kong Campus.

On Monday, more than a dozen people were evacuated after a 500 pound (227 kg) US made World War II bomb was discovered at a construction site in Hong Kong near the university campus. The bomb has now been detonated.

4. UberEATS soon to be launched in India.

Uber, the cab hailing giant, on Monday announced that their UberEATS app would soon launch in India. The food delivery service first began in 2014 in Los Angeles and is currently available in almost 58 cities across the globe. After India, the app would soon launch in places like Taipei, Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore.

5. Almost half of the practising lawyers in the country are fake, as per the Bar Council Chairman.

After the two-year long verification drive, as conducted by the Bar Council, only 55 to 60% of the practising lawyers in the country are genuine, as the chairman Manan Kumar Mishra told Chief Justice JS Khehar. The chairman also said that this verification drive would help out in finding the illegal practising lawyer around the country which in turn would improve the quality of the legal profession.
