Rs 2000 notes have been recovered from the baggage that was carried by two terrorists, who were gunned down by Indian Army an encounter at Bandipora sector of Jammu & Kashmir, earlier today.
These two terrorists were killed after the Indian Joint Forces launched an operation, following a lead regarding their presence in Hanjan area. After tracking them, some gunshots were exchanged, leaving both the terrorists dead. The search operation is still underway, for flushing out more terrorists, if any.
The baggage included two AK-47 guns with several other ammunitions and a total of Rs 15,000 cash, including new Indian Currency notes of Rs 2000.
However, it is still unclear that how these terrorists got hold of the new Rs 2000 notes and the episode has put the PM Modi led Government under questioning.
While banning the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on 8th November, PM Modi clearly said that the move by Indian government will ensure the cessation of Black Money and Terror Funding.
