Punjab RSS leader, Jagdish Gagneja Dies after 47 Days of Being Shot.

JAGDISH Gagneja who was a retired Brigadier and Vice-President of RSS Punjab unit died at Hero Heart Institute of Ludhiana on Thursday morning. On 6 August he was shot by unidentified motorcycle born miscreants in Jalandhar’s market, on 7 August he was admitted in Hero DMC institute.

The cremation of the 70-year-old leader was scheduled to take place at Ram Bagh, Jalandhar at 4 pm today.

Dr GS Wander, Director of Hero Heart Institute confirmed his death in the morning and stated that Gagneja’s health was deteriorating for the past one week and today early morning his BP fell. Gagneja was declared dead at 9.16 am in the morning, he had multiple organ failures.

He sustained a head injury and three bullet injuries in his abdominal area. The veteran leader was kept on a ventilator ever since he was admitted to the hospital.

Dr Wander stated that Gagneja had infections in multiple organs which had increased in the past one week. His wife, two daughters and his son Colonel Rahul Gagneja was staying in a private room of Heart institute and taking care of him.

BJP Punjab’s vice president Anil Sareen revealed that DMCH will conduct Gagneja’s post-mortem instead of a civil hospital, due to security reasons.

Sareen and Phool Chand Jain, the co-ordinator of RSS Ludhiana wing, expressed  deep shock over this news. The BJP unit has cancelled all their programmes of the day which also included a conference by Shwait Malik.

The attackers who shot Gagneja are yet to be traced and the case has been shifted to CBI in the last week of August.
