Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Brussels after asserting that India would never bow down to terrorism. Narendra Modi left on Wednesday night for Washington to attend the Fourth Nuclear Security Summit (NSS). Previously he attended the 13th India-EU summit and resolving to fight terrorism together with Belgium.
After Modi finished addressing the Indian diaspora in the Belgian Capital, he tweeted,”Leaving for Washington DC after a satisfying Belgium visit. My thanks to Belgian people & Government for their exceptional hospitality.”
Further his tweet reads,”Am certain my visit will lead to stronger ties with Belgium & EU. India, Europe and the world will gain from strong ties between us.”
The twin explosions that happened in Belgian capital on March 22 at Zaventem airport and another explosion at a metro station include at least 35 deaths involving an Indian national.
The Prime Minister’s Office posted a tweet on twitter, “All set for the trans-Atlantic voyage. PM leaves for the USA where he will join Nuclear Security Summit.”
It was Modi’s first official visit to Belgian capital and it was a daylong visit to Brussels. Belgian capital is the headquarters of the European Union. Modi stated that India stood by in support and solidarity with the Belgian people who are suffering from these terror attacks.
The Fourth Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) will be attended by 53 nations and four international organisations in Washington.
Narendra Modi will be attending a leaders-only thematic dinner hosted by Barack Obama, the US president at the White House in the evening on 31st March.
On 1st April, three plenary sessions will be conducted where India and other participating nations will submit their national nuclear progress reports.
