Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised on the act east policy while addressing the India-ASEAN summit. PM Modi said that ASEAN is central o India’s ‘Act East’ Policy.
He added that India’s engagement with ASEAN is driven by common priorities, stability, bringing peace and prosperity to the region.
PM said that India’s tie with ASEAN is a source of harmony. He also mentioned that our Nation’s strategic partnership with ASEAN covers economic, socio-cultural spheres and security.
He added further that 54 activities mentioned in the ASEAN-India Plan of Action have already been implemented by India.
While addressing the summit he also highlighted that enhancing connectivity is central to India’s partnership with ASEAN.
Modi also took a strong stand against terrorism ad said that growing radicalization, spread of extreme violence and export of terror are the most common threats to our societies.
PM Narendra Modi announced that India will host Commemorative Summit on “Shared Values, Common Destiny” in 2017.
