Delhi Commission for Women Chief Swati Maliwal is In Trouble For Hiring AAP Supporters Illegally.

On Tuesday, a FIR has been registered by Capital’s anti-corruption branch (ACB) against Delhi women panel chief, Swati Maliwal for allegedly hiring the supporters of Aam Aadmi Party to the Delhi Commission for Women.

The former DCW chief Barkha Singh complained that 85 supporters of AAP have been hired in DCW without “requisite credentials”. The ACB questioned Swati Maliwal for two hours and launched a police complaint.

During the session with ACB, Maliwal was asked to submit replies for 27 questions. Maliwal said that she has given a week’s time to reply these 27 questions and she is being asked that how did she appoint so many members to the women’s panel.

This complaint will surely ratch up the long going tension between the AAP and the Centre. Both are bruising public battle for control of the Capital.

In her defence, Maliwal stated that the former DCW chief who complained had handled only one case but the ACB handled 11,500 cases in the past one year. The efficiency of DWC has irked many who were trying to thwart its work, whenever there is a rape case DCW demands the answers and it is disturbing a lot of people.

She also said that Barkha Singh had appointed the wives of IAS and IPS officers without any advertisement for recruitment but she has appointed members following due procedure. She stated that the DWC has all the documents of the hired members and they will be provided to ACB.
