1. Petrol And Diesel May Soon Be Delivered To Your Home.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Friday tweeted that they are considering the idea of home delivery of petrol and diesel upon pre-booking, in order to cut long queues and waiting time outside fuel pumps. The Ministry said that almost 3.5 crore people every day visit the fuel stations and nearly Rs 2,500 crore worth of transactions take place every year.

2. SEBI court rejected Sahara Chief Subrata Roy’s non-bailable warrant.

On Friday, a special SEBI court in Mumbai quashed a non-bailable warrant against Sahara Chief Subrata Roy. The warrant was rejected on the grounds of Roy appearing for all the hearings now, the court has also asked him to sign an undertaking for the same. The Supreme Court in February issued a non-bailable warrant against Roy, after he failed to appear before the court, many times. The next hearing in this matter would take place on 18th May when the arguments on framing of charges will begin.

3. Service Charge not mandatory now: Ram Vilas Paswan

Union Minister for Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan, on Friday, in a series of tweets announced that service charges, imposed by restaurants and hotels in no more mandatory. It would be “totally voluntary” and not mandatory, this can make the entire eating out experience less expensive for the consumer. As per the new guidelines, the column of service charge in a bill will be left blank to customers to fill up before making the final bill.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth turned 91 today and it’s celebrating her 91st birthday with gun salutes. While the monarch celebrated her birthday quietly at home, a troop of Royal Horse Artillery rode on horses-and-gun carriages past Buckingham Palace before staging a 41 gun salute. Queen Elizabeth is Britain’s oldest and longest-reigning monarch. Today is her original birthday, however, the Queen celebrates her official birthday in June.

5. A man in West-Bengal fined by Rs 50,000 for spying on ex-wife phone.

The West Bengal cyber adjudicator on Friday fined a man by Rs 50,000 for spying on her estranged wife’s phone. This is a first-of-its-kind fine in West Bengal and quite possibly in the country too. The man was found guilty and was charged, for breaching online privacy. The man would now have to pay the sum of Rs 50,000 to his ex-wife within next 30 days.
