Pakistan resorted to a ceasefire violation at two sites of Jammu’s Poonch district on Thursday, namely, Bhimber Gali(BG) sector of Rajouri and Hiranagar sector of Kathua region.
According to the Army officials, around 25 small weapon rounds and two mortar shells were fired from the other side of Line Of Control.
Lieutenant Colonel, Manish Mehta said that the troops violated a bilateral ceasefire in Bhimber Gali (BG) sector of the LoC. They used mortar shellings to target Indian Army positions. The shelling fire stopped at 3.30 am, however, small arms and automatic gunfire exchange continued, he added.
This is the 31st ceasefire violation by Pakistani Troops since the Indian Army carried out Surgical Strikes at militant camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on 29 September.

On Wednesday, Pakistani Troops attacked the Army camp at Tarkunde area of Rajouri District and at the time of the Poonch attack, six terrorists ambushed a BSF camp in Samba sector. The terrorist took advantage of the night and came close to the Indian Side of the border, where they started firing at BSF soldiers. This is the first ever attack on a BSF post.
After proper valuation, the official came to a conclusion that both the attacks were organised to infiltrate the Indian Border but the terrorists returned to the Pakistani side after Indian Army and BSF retaliated.
