1. Narendra Modi Launches E-Wallet App ‘Bhim’.

In order to ease digital transactions for the people, PM Narendra Modi has launched an e-wallet app and has named it ‘Bhim’. Bhim is a short form for Bharat Interface for Money. PM Modi also called the launch of Bhim as the greatest gift of 2017 to the country.

2. Apple plans to make iPhone in Bengaluru from April 2017.

Apple is ‘very serious’ to begin manufacturing of products in Bengaluru, India from April. Apple has done a business of almost Rs 9,997 Cr in FY16 which is 56 % more than last year’s Rs 6,472 Cr. The company has published on its website for some positions at the factory in Bengaluru.

3. Lionel Messi named the best playmaker of 2016.

Lionel Messi has received the award for being the Best Playmaker of 2016 by the International Federation of Football. This is his second consecutive win of the prestigious award and received twice the number of votes from his nearest competitor.

4. Uber has warned the users about the fares being the highest on New Year’s eve between 12-3 am.

Uber recently warned the users about the surge prices being the highest between the midnight and 3am on New Year’s eve. Uber has expected the number of riders to triple from last year’s 50 Lakh to 1.5 Cr, this year.

5. Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled his son and Ram Gopal from the party.

Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled Akhilesh Yadav, the current Chief Minister of UP and his son, and Ram Gopal from Samajwadi Party. He also said that he will decide the new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and the two expelled ministers are breaking the party apart.

6. Sensex gains 260 points and Nifty gains 82 points as the year come to an end.

Indian market ended on a positive note on Friday, as the last working day of the year.  the Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex rising 260.31 points to end at 26,626.46 and the National Stock Exchange Nifty closing 82.20 points higher at 8,185.80
