Nagrota Attack: Seven Army Soldiers Killed, Including Two Officers

The terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir are on a high rise since September 18, Uri attack. Yesterday, four terrorists (as per Police sources) targeted an Army camp at the 16 Corps Headquarters in Nagrota near Jammu, which led to the killing of five soldiers and two army officers. These terrorists snuck into the army camp in police uniforms.

Nagrota is just 14 km far from Jammu and is known to be an important town in the area, it is one of the largest army corps that has been headquartered in the town. The terrorists attacked the 166 field regiment camp on Tuesday at 5:30 a.m. and the entire operation lasted for 14 hours. Three of the terrorists have been killed till now, and it is said that these men have been in India for almost a week now and recced the camp before striking it.

Two officers killed in the attack were identified as Major Akshay Girish Kumar from Koramangala in Bengaluru and Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir from Pandharpur in Maharashtra. The soldiers are identified as Lance Naik Kadam Sambhaji Yeshwantro from Village Janapuri in Maharashtra, Havildar Sukhraj Singh from village Maan Nagar in Gurdaspur (Punjab), Rifleman Azim Rai from Village Ratanchha in PO Khotang (Nepal) and Grenadier Raghvendra Singh from Gadijatar in Rajasthan, as per ANI.

Another attack like this one took place at BSF Patrol in Chamliyal in Ramgarh district of Samba. Four were injured in this attack including a BSF DIG, and three terrorists were encountered here.
