Mumbai River Anthem: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Wife Came Together For A Music Video

Devendra Fadnavis, the state Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and his wife are known for going out of their ways to work for the people of their state. Be it propositioning for a larger-than-life statue or constantly coming up with ideas for improving the lives of the people living in the state, even though most of the time they don’t come to life.

Now, the couple, Devendra Fadnavis and wife Amruta Fadnavis have come together to lip-sync their way into the hearts of Maharashtra people. They featured in a music video as a show of support for rivers and titled it, Mumbai River Anthem.

The Fadnavises can be seen dancing and choreographically walking to a song that urges people to help keep rivers clean. To be honest, all the dancing and choreo-walking is only done by Mrs. Fadnavis while CM Devendra Fadnavis took the high road of doing all his work through his hands and expressions.

Mumbai River Anthem: Watch The Video Over Here:

The video, featuring a number by Amruta and Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam, has Fadnavis and Forests Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar lip-syncing. Apart from him, Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta and Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar also feature in the video.

One look at the video and you’ll totally get what people might be feeling about it. To cut the long story short, many are considering the music video to be nothing more than a weird tactic by the government to be in the news. Some even went ahead by saying, Amruta Fadnavis is fulfilling her long dream of signing for the masses through this video, and nothing else.

Check out Twitter reactions to the music video over here:

Speculations and jokes can be made in thousands of numbers by the people on Twitter, however, the real objection is coming from the opposition. AAP spokesperson Preeti Sharma Menon said. “It is sheer hypocrisy that they are talking about protecting rivers when the BJP-led government is on a spree to destroy the environment.

Nitin Sardesai, an MNS leader, slammed the music video by stating, “Why did the CM not remember Mumbai’s rivers while he took the decision to legalise illegal slums along the rivers if the huts were constructed until 2011. It shows his double standards.”
