Mumbai Police’s Incredible Inspiration From The One And Only King Khan During These COVID-19 Lockdown Days!

Surely, the world must be a crazy place! For how else can one even describe this planet in the wake of a rather cataclysmic time that one finds himself in. Who would have thought, say even at the peak of one’s intellectual prowess or even in the haziest episodes of being drunk out of one’s wits that there could be a day when someone eating a weird kind of animal meat would cause the rest of the larger planet to succumb to a state of temporary lockdown?

No one, not even the greatest soothsayers anywhere in the god’s mighty earth would’ve come up with such a theory. And must it be asked in no uncertain terms whether such a bewildering theory could’ve been imagined by legends like JK Rowling or JRR Tolkein?

No right?

Such a daft enigma this world is, isn’t it?

So much so that in order to pass around a message to a bunch of people in a harmless bid, one has to opt to famous movies and great actors, only for human beings to keep themselves safe and sound.

Which is perhaps why the famous Mumbai Police had to, of all things, resort to a famous Bollywood film, starring none other than the great Shah Rukh Khan, in their bid to reach out to the masses in the city of dreams (also known as India’s financial capital).

So when the iconic SRK’s dialogue from the famous 2004 epic Main Hoon Na was translated and picked up, rather relevantly, by the Mumbai Police- as a slogan- “Mask Hai Na”, you thought of the catchiness as much as the strong connection SRK has with his Indian audience.

No?

In an age where the social media messaging is as common as the occurrence of IPL highlights on your favorite cricket channels, movies, one can say, often turn out to be a common reference point.

And what could have been a better example to understand the sheer magic that films weave in connection with emotive dialogues and meaningful lessons that can be imparted, if used wisely, during tough times such as the present ensuing situation (around the globe).

Yet, nothing is better than the special way in which the famed Mumbai Police capitalized on, and rightly so, on one of India’s greatest screen idols ever, channelizing an important dialogue on social media to reach out to the masses.

Here’s what Network 18 had to say about the great development that’s currently trending:

With the number of coronavirus cases shooting up in India, several states have made the using of masks compulsory in outdoors to contain the spread of the virus. And to remind people constantly to use masks, the Mumbai Police took to Twitter to share a meme of Shah Rukh Khan from the 2004 movie Main Hoon Na.

Fans probably remember when Shah Rukh Khan had to do a massive back arch to safeguard himself from being spat on by Satish Shah, who played the role of a college professor, in the staff room. Taking a cue from its popularity, Mumbai Police took to Twitter to say, “@iamsrk wouldn’t need to do such stunts any longer – Mask Hai Na!”
