The ongoing fiasco perpetrated by Lalu Prasad Yadav regarding his AIIMS visit is something one just can’t miss out on. A little too much has happened in just a day and things are not at all going in Lalu’s favour.
RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was brought in for his medical treatment to AIIMS, Delhi on March 29. A medical team of six doctors was formed to serve him and now, the leader is perfectly fine to be referred back to the Ranchi Medical College, Jharkhand. However, Lalu and his family are not at all happy with the decision taken by the team of doctors. Speaking to reporters following his discharge, Lalu claimed it was a “political vendetta”, also claiming his life was under threat. Adding to this, he said that the move was unjust and there’s some conspiracy behind the sudden shift to a place with no adequate facilities.
Lalu even wrote a letter expressing his unhappiness with the AIIMS decision and said that he was not fit to return to Ranchi. Referring to his condition, Lalu explained in his letter, “I don’t want to be shifted back to the Ranchi hospital, as that hospital is not properly equipped to treat my ailments.”
In fact, minutes before he was taken back, Lalu said that he was too ‘ill’ to even walk and was feeling dizzy. And then, just outside the New Delhi Railway Station, RJD Chief picked up a fight with the cops that were escorting him.
Following the news of Lalu’s release from AIIMS, RJD supporters created a huge ruckus at the hospital. The supporters broke a glass door, abused the security guards and administration officials, hospital sources alleged. The hospital administration has now registered a complaint with the Delhi Police regarding the incident.
Lalu’s son, Tejaswi Yadav also said that the decision was made in ‘haste’ and that only the AIIMS authority can reveal the real reason behind the sudden transfer. The entire fiasco erupted just hours after Congress President Rahul Gandhi met Lalu in the hospital.
Lalu Yadav is currently his jail term in Ranchi, since December 2017 in connection with the fodder scam.He has been convicted in four fodder scam cases since 2013 — the most recent one being the Dumka treasury case, in which a special CBI court sentenced him to 14 years in jail.
