Yesterday, on 23rd November, JNUSU called for a march from Mandi House to Parliament Street regarding the missing. However, the march was put to a halt by Delhi police. The protests have been going on from past 38 days inside and outside the JNU campus, and it also included Najeeb’s mother and his sisters.

Fatima Nafees, Najeeb’s mother, recently told the media that she has been offered a helping hand from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in locating his son. CM Akhilesh Yadav said to Najeeb’s mother that he would be sending UP Police force to investigate Najeeb’s whereabouts. He assured Fatima that Najeeb is UP’s son and they would rescue him.

A few days back, certain claims of seeing Najeeb in Aligarh and Darbhanga were made, however, nothing has come out in support of these claims, yet.

Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid were also present in yesterday’s protest, earlier this year both of them were charged with sedition. Khalid asserted that the police was trying to build a narrative behind Najeeb’s missing, as constant statements have been provided from the police’s front, which they usually don’t do as it hinders the investigation process.

A lot of investigation is taking place regarding the missing, investigators found out that Najeeb was receiving psychiatric help from Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, a well-known mental health institute in Delhi, as he was diagnosed with depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

The investigators are keeping a constant check on death reports from areas which could be related to Najeeb, like Aligarh, Bareilly, Kota, Kanpur, Ajmer and Badaun, as well as neighbouring areas of Delhi.
