A JNU student has gone missing since Saturday under some serious circumstances. The missing student is Najeeb Ahmad, pursuing MSc in Biotechnology and a resident of room no. 106 of Mandavi Hostel. He is also an activist of All India Student Association (AISA).
The missing has been allegedly circulated to be a kidnapping done by ABVP activists due to their altercation with Najeeb on Friday. A case under section 365 (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) of IPC has been recorded on the basis of Najeeb’s parents’ complaint at Vasant Kunj North police station.
Najeeb had a fight with few ABVP activists who were carrying out a door-to-door campaign at the hostel regarding the mess committee election. He allegedly slapped one of the ABVP activists due to which other residents of the hostel asked him to vacate the hostel.
However, another activist said that a small fight between two people (Najeeb and an ABVP activist) resulted in a large group of ABVP member beating him.
A post on Facebook described all, that actually happened with Najeeb and his missing.
A protest had also been organised by JNUSU at the university, demanding the university to take an action against the whole incident as soon as possible.
