Indians Can Now Travel In Glass Ceiling Trains

Anyone who has been on a train would agree with me, when I say that train journeys are some of the most visually stunning experiences one get to go through in their lives. India is filled with picturesque landscapes that train cut through, which is why this is high time that we get to have something that takes the journey up a notch and it seems the government has already taken one such step.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Sunday flagged off the trail run of vistadome coaches. These vistadome coaches have features like LED lights, rotatable seats, GPS-based information system and best of all, it has glass roofs. Now, how amazing is that. Along with these, there are some other things like Infotainment system, observation lounge and wide side door for Divyang, available in the coaches.

These coaches are on a trial run between Visakhapatnam and Araku stations that are said to have some of the most panoramic views in the country. The train journey for passengers would start from Thursday. As per Economic Times, the cost of this project is Rs 4 crore for four coaches. And, while two of them have been assigned on Visakhapatnam to Araku journey, the other two will be sent to Jammu and Kashmir, which is another beauty that deserves these coaches.

Minister Prabhu himself shared the images of the coaches, yesterday, and from the looks of it, these coaches are nothing less than a state-of-the-art initiative by the government.

Till now, Suresh Prabhu has done some of the excellent things for Railway and its betterment, and even people seem to like him a lot. As per a survey by Inshorts and Ipsos, released last year, 59% of Indians think that Suresh Prabhu is doing a great job with the Railways.

From assuring WiFi in trains and stations to increased number of coaches, there are many things that Prabhu has initiated in the Railways and these glass ceiling coaches are also a part of them. Just like Europe and many other places, even India now has something to be new and exciting about travelling in trains.
