Indian Army Destroys Pakistani Posts in Naushera Sector To Prevent Infiltration Bid

The Indian Army destroyed Pakistani posts in Naushera Sector to prevent infiltration bids along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir and has also released a video relating the same. This is said to be in a response to increasing tensions on the border as well as the beheading of two Indian soldiers, three weeks ago.

Expecting infiltration attempts to increase once summer arrives and the snow starts melting in the area, the Indian Army took this step to dissuade militants from crossing the border and while answering about why Pakistani posts were targeted, Major-General Ashok Narula said that their bunkers were providing shelter to militants who were planning to cross the border.
The Indian Army said in a statement, “Pakistani army has been providing full support to infiltrators by engaging Indian army posts. Infiltrations are likely to increase with the melting of snow and opening of passes. Operations like Naugam where four terrorists were neutralized on 20-21 May are the instances. This calls for even more pro-active counter-terrorism operations”.

Major-General Ashok Narula said, “Pakistan Army has been providing support to armed infiltrators. We proactively dominate LOC, and want peace and tranquility in J&K”.

Bofors guns were used to shell two Pakistani army posts and the artillery units on the ground opted for fire control radars that accurately picked up the precise locations of military activity. Once the locations and coordinates were identified, the Bofors guns were put to use.

While Ashok Narula didn’t reveal the date of this attack, it is said to have taken place before 13th May as Pakistan Armed Forces’ spokesperson, Major General Asif Ghafoor, on the same day, tweeted, “the strike by Indian Forces will be responded with full force”.

However, taking a u-turn from his statements, he tweeted on Tuesday, “Indian claims of destroying Pakistani posts are false”.

Over the past few weeks, a spree of ceasefire violations as well as border breaches, was recorded along the tension-ridden Line of Control, which led to the evacuation of over 1,000 villagers and the incidents were largely recorded in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowshera in Rajouri district. Around 1700 people have already been evacuated from the area and have been shifted to relief camps.
