Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is the biggest financial reform the country has witnessed since Independence, is all set to be rolled out at 12 am on July 1 and in an unprecedented as well as one of its kind move, the Parliament is going to hold a midnight joint session, marking the historic move. However, the Opposition has clearly opposed the Goods And Services Tax rollout and they will be boycotting the midnight joint session of Parliament.
Moreover, Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) representative will be the only one from the opposition who will attend this unprecedented session. While Trinamool Congress has also boycotted the event, INC’s Rahul Gandhi has called the event a “publicity gimmick” as well as “tamasha”.

Indian Rupee, on the other hand, strengthened by 5 paise against the US Dollar on sustained demand by exporters and banks. The greenback was valued at Rs 64.58 by the end of Friday’s trade.
