1. CBI Filed A Supplementary Chargesheet Against Industrialist Naveen Jindal!

On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a supplementary chargesheet against 6 people who are accused in a coal scam case. Special CBI Judge Bharat Parashar has summoned new accused –  Congress leader and industrialist Naveen Jindal, Jindal Steel’s adviser Anand Goel, Gurgaon-based Green Infra’s Vice-President Siddharth Madra, Nihar Stocks Limited Director BSN Suryanarayan, Mumbai-based KE International’s Chief Financial Officer Rajeev Aggarwal, and Mumbai’s Essar Power Limited Executive Vice-Chairman Sushil Kumar Maroo, for April 10.

2. Government Says That It Has No Plans To Introduce Rs 5000, Rs 10000 Notes.

On Friday, in a written reply by the Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal to the Lok Sabha, he said that after consulting the matter with the central bank, the idea of introducing Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 note has not been found suitable, hence the government has decided not to release the Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 banknotes in the near future. The government had introduced the newly printed notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 following the demonetization move last year in November.

3. 6 BSF Personnel Injured In Mortar Firing Incident In Jharkhand

Today, during firing practice in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, 6 BSF personnel got injured in a mortar shell blast. The incident happened in Sitagarh firing range at around 1 PM. A 51mm mortar fell short of its desired target and ended up injuring 6 men. The BSF troops were there for a practice session when the incident happened. The injured men were taken to the nearest hospital and all of them were reported to be in a stable condition.

4. Dr. Randeep Guleria Is Appointed As The New Director Of AIIMS-Delhi

Dr. Randeep Guleria has been appointed as the director of the All India Institute of Medical Science today. He started working as an assistant professor in AIIMS in 1992. Since April 2011, he has been serving there as the HoD of the department of pulmonary medicine and sleep disorders. He has been appointed to serve as the director of AIIMS for five years or till attaining the age of 65 years. He has replaced Dr. M C Mishra who served as AIIMS director for over three years.

5. Market Ends In Green, Rupee Gains Against US Dollar

BSE’s Benchmark Sensex gained 89.24 points before ending Friday’s trade at 29,421.40 due to foreign inflows and firm trends overseas. NSE’s Nifty also gained substantially and crossed the 9100-mark before ending the trade at 9,108 points. Indian Rupee, on the other hand, gained 11 paise against the US Dollar due to fresh selling of the American currency by exporters and banks. The green currency was valued at Rs 65.41 at the end of Friday’s trade.
