The double-decker trains were first introduced to the world in the year 1828. A bit of a quiet enigma these trains, in that they are nearly as captivating in the offering as they are designed- with a purpose, keeping in mind the capacity to ferry.
It’s little surprise then, that gradually, over a period of time, these trains have begun one of the most sought-after modes of travel where it comes to tourism purposes.
And where it comes to famous destinations around the world, then it is not that difficult to find double-decker trains in France, Germany, Australia, among the many nations where they have emerged as the jewels of modern tourism.
Similarly, in India, the Bilevel rail car, as they are also called, are particularly famous. And one such route- Delhi to Jaipur- shall once again see the noted Delhi-Jaipur double-decker train return and that too, in the next few hours.
According to the latest news inputs, a member of the North Western Railway; a spokesperson confirmed the precise news that might bring the lost smile back to herds of tourists that may have been desperately waiting for the Delhi-Jaipur double decker train to resume service.
Having run into the COVID-19 snag, that went on to affect not just railways, but the entire gamut of air travel in India (just like it impacted the rest of the world), it’s not too hard to note that several train services came to either a standstill or unexpected periods of suspension.
But then those days are a thing of the past- aren’t they? How could tourism- as a sector-have lagged behind with several sectors of India have resuming operations, in a bid to walk back to the state of normalcy?
The concerned spokesperson announced that the famous Delhi-Jaipur double decker train shall commence operations from the Pink city Jaipur (Rajasthan’s capital) everyday starting October 10 and shall reach New Delhi in not more than 4 and a ½ hours, i.e., around 10.30 a.m.
The final destination for the said train shall be the national capital-bound Delhi Sarai Rohilla railway station. Quoting from INDIA TV.com, “Similarly, it will leave Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 5.35 pm and reach Jaipur at 10.05 pm, he added.”
As a matter of fact, Jaipur has already begun to witness an impressive number of footfalls where tourists are concerned, with a recent news report suggesting that the number of tourists is only going to rise in the city in the days that follow: all thanks to the buses that are due to arrive from the cities of Haldwani, Kotdwar, to name a few.
However, there will also be a need to tread cautiously particularly at this point in time, even as it’s hard to suppress the optimism stemming from the good news regarding surge in tourism in the imminent future. Wondering why is that?
It was only around 19-20 hours ago where news reports suggested that there’s been a surge in COVID cases in the city that breached the 1.5 lakh mark. However, that’s not the only fact that one must remember whilst traveling to the beating heart of Rajasthan!
