On Friday, the Indian Army killed a popular separatist commander Burhan Wani in a gunfight in Kashmir. He was a commander of the region’s largest rebel group, Hizbul Mujahideen and his funeral was attended by thousands of people on Saturday in his hometown of Tral.
After his death, the Kashmiri protesters came forward and attacked police stations, military installations and several buildings. They believe that Indian Armed forces keep attacking the protesting Kashmiris and call them terrorist and outsiders.
At least 23 people are killed till now in this protest and many more are injured in the clashes. Mob in the Jhelum area pelted a car of a police officer and pushed it into a river. The police officer drowned while inside of the vehicle.
The fear of more violence is increasing and the strict curfew continues due to these dangerous clashes. The mobile internet services remained suspended in Indian-administered Kashmir.
This is worst violence in the region for last some years and Rights groups have described the current situation as a state of emergency. The roads are clubbed with protesters and hospitals are filled with wounded protesters.
If the situation will not bring under control soon, many people will lose their lives in these clashes.
