A Pakistan-Born Actor Is Sacked From TV-Show For His Offensive Tweets About India.

A Pakistan-born actor Marc Anwar, who works in UK’s longest running TV show – Coronation Street – has been sacked by his network due to his hate crime and racist tweets against India.

The attack that took place at Indian Army Brigade Headquarters in Uri town near the line of control, in which 18 Indian soldiers lost their lives has resulted in tension between India and Pakistan. Moreover, few days back, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has threatened the Pakistani artists working here to leave the country.

On this, Marc Anwar took his anger to twitter and tweeted some awful and racist tweets about the Indians. He used offensive words for the country that resulted in a backlash and disgust from the twitterati towards his hate crime. But soon he deleted his two of the most offensive tweets and made his twitter private.

As soon as, ITV (the network on which he is working) got to know about it, they released a statement, “We are deeply shocked by the entirely unacceptable, racially offensive comments made on Twitter by Marc Anwar. We have talked to Marc and, as a consequence of his comments, he will not be returning to ‘Coronation Street’ with immediate effect.”

Two months back, Marc Anwar was also seen supporting British Transport Police against hate crime.  He has also released a video of him apologising for his hateful comments and unacceptable language after loosing his job, on YouTube.
