Pakistani Troops used heavy mortar bombs and automatic weapons to target 25 Border Outposts of the Indian Army and many other civilian villages along the International borders, in the late hours of Sunday evening. The cross-border fire is still underway.
The ceasefire initially started on Friday evening, in which seven Pakistani troops and a terrorist were killed after the retaliation of Indian Army and BSF outposts. There was a lull of 48 hours and the attack resumed on Sunday night.
The attack on the Indian outposts came within 12 hours of Additional Director General of BSF Arun Kumar’s warning to Pakistani Government, in which he assured a counter attack on Pakistani outposts.
According to the officials, the property and livestock were also vandalized. The civilians have shut themselves indoors and are waiting for the firing to stop.
