One BSF soldier was killed and another got injured in Baramulla Attack by militants on 46 Rashtriya Rifles camp in Baramulla, 54 kilometres from Srinagar on late Sunday night.
Heavy exchange of fire started when the militants tried to enter the 46 Rashtriya Rifles camp after breeching an adjacent BSF camp. The cease-fire lasted for three hours.
The local living in the area reported that the gunfire started at 10:30 pm. More than four terrorists tried to enter the camp and since the army has been on high alert after the Uri attack, the army countered them and they were not able to breach the camp’s security. The other militants were successful in escaping and search operations are underway.
One BSF soldier and two militants were killed, leaving four other soldiers injured.
The Northern Command of army tweeted later that night:
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister showed his concern through a tweet:
The attack came just three days after India carried surgical strike in response to the Uri attacks at seven terrorist launch pads near the LOC.
India has already warned Pakistan to see into the matters of these on border militants camps but after this Fidayeen attack, one thing is sure that the situation may get worse in the coming future and Indian army has to stay alert.
