Arnab Goswami, the King of Primetime Television, will soon be back to his fans and audience with Republic TV. His project is nothing short of than his baby that he has promised to use in the best way possible for delivering the truthful and unbiased news to the audience.
There’s one thing that has stuck with Arnab Goswami over his long career and that is, “The nation wants to know”. What was once a simple term, slowly turned into one of his key characteristics. However, as he has parted with Times Now, which initially sparked his Newshours, there’s a legal battle that is surrounding the term now.
A six-page legal notice was sent to Arnab Goswami which as he said is the not the first one he has ever received. This legal notice comes with imprisonment if he ever uses the phrase “Nation wants to know”. Gosvami replied to the legal message through an audio clip where he didn’t mention the name of the media organisation, but then we all know it, don’t we?

He posted the audio clip on Republic TV YouTube channel and talked his heart out about the incident which is really bad. No matter what organisation one is working for, they are the only one who has entitled to their work style, catch phrase and basically their working pattern. Even Barkha Dutt, Arnab’s big time opponent in terms of views, came out in support of Arnab Goswami and tweeted this:
As reported by The News Minute, the Times Group had applied for trademark registration for the phrase “Nation wants to know” in January 2017. However, Arnab Goswami and his company Republic TV, are also applying for a trademark registration of the phrase. This legal notice was sent to inform Arnab Goswami that Times Now had the first claim.
