Delhi Government is all set to launch a website which would be dedicated to freedom fighters and martyrs. It will act like a virtual gallery where people would be able to know about those who lost their lives while fighting for their countries and people around them. The main aim of creating a website like this is to inculcate the feeling of patriotism among the youth of the country and to h0onour the freedom fighters and martyrs.
Delhi Minister for Labour and General Administrative Department, Gopal Rai said that the website is going to launch on 27th September 2016 at a function which will be organised for the 110th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh. A special cultural programme on patriotic theme “Shaheed Utsav” would be arranged at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on 27 September.
He added that the government has harmonised with all the seven union territories and 29 states for nominating the freedom fighters and the family members or close relatives of the martyrs so that they could be invited to attend the function where they’ll be felicitated.
A platform will be provided where people can give information and photographs of any freedom fighter and martyr that they know of. However, the authenticity of information will be verified by the government officials before featuring it on the official website.
