Today an earthquake of 6.8 magnitude hit central Myanmar and its tremors were strongly felt in Patna, Guwahati and Kolkata. All the offices and colleges in Kolkata were vacated as the people experienced horrible shaking. The tremors of earthquake lasted for at least 10 seconds in the city.
A young college student said that the tables were shaking. Her friend told that everyone ran away from the classroom.
After the tremors, the Metro services in Kolkata were halted, however, the services have been resumed now.
The tremors of the earthquake lasted in Patna for 3 seconds and the quake was also felt across the state of Bihar.
An earthquake with a 3.7 magnitude on the Richter scale epicentered in Haryana and it’s tremors were felt in parts of Delhi, earlier this week.
